[Details] Beyonce And Jay-Z Cannot Patent Blue-Ivy Name!

Money Doesn’t Buy Everything!

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has ruled that Jay-Z and Beyonce cannot trademark their daughter name, Blue Ivy. As we reported earlier he couple made an patent attempt just days after Blue Ivy was born [Jan. 2012] in hopes to brand the name for a line of baby-related products, including carriages, diaper bags and baby cosmetics but we’ve now learned the attempt has been rejected, reports CNN.

Boston wedding planner, Veronica Alexandria had patent the name ‘Blue Ivy’ back in 2009 and reserves the right to use for marketing and advertising use which means that the Carter couple [Bey and Jay] cannot proceed in their clothing endeavors for Blue Ivy. Alexandria is pleased with judge’s ruling and said this to Rollingstone:

I was really blatantly shocked! I didn’t think it was true because nobody names their daughter Blue Ivy… I knew this was going to be a bittersweet roller coaster. If this wasn’t going to work, I’d go after both of them. Like, ‘Let’s do it!’ In my mind I had some protective rights. There’s no way by way of being a celebrity they should have entitlement [to the name]. Shame on them.”

“For me it was a very large compliment,” she says. “All in all I was extremely happy that my design capacity is pretty badass.”

Sidebar: My question is why didn’t  Jay and Bey look into this while Bey was preggers? At least their the first to have a child with the [now] popular name. I’m sure they’ll come up with another name for their  and my recommendation would be to extend the Dereon brand for tots and name their  clothing line “House Of Ivy instead.

Check out pics of the couple brunching at the Giorgio Ristorante overlooking the Statue Of Liberty this past weekend.
