Model/Singer/Fashionista, Solange Knowles is taking a shot back into the music world. Solange debut her new song and video “Losing You” the first single off of Solange’s upcoming untitled lp earlier this week . The video was directed by Solange’s cousin, Melina Matsoukas and was filmed in Cape Town, South Africa. In the vid, there’s candid shots of the culture of Capetown including some fashionable moments as well.
In various scenes, you can see fashionable garbs sported by the singer and the residents of Capetown who also feature in the video. Everything from checker prints, pin stripe color suits, african printed pieces, to the infamous box braid extensions, the patent-leather pumps [worn by Solange] and steel-toe color shoes [worn by the men] is shown in the video.
There’s one part of the video I like the most when Solange is singing on top of a stack of old mattress [which is positioned in the center of a neighborhood where they filmed] Not a big fan of the song [as yet] but Solange is clearly streaming a different direction in her music and given her new style of fashion and travel experiences the song and video seems befitting for Solange.
