Elle Varner Covers SFPL Digital Magazine Issue

Singer,  Elle Varner snags the first premiere issue of  the StuffFlyPeopleLike ‘SFPL’ digital magazine. In the mag, the Refill singer  talks about getting music recognition from the First Lady Michelle Obama, her dream collaborations, and the state of R&B music.

Elle Varner serves up a few sexy poses in the shoot. Having dropped a few pounds recently and feeling sexier and confident,  Elle rocks a red chiffon dress with a split that shows off her toned legs and calfs, and in other shot, Elle sports a tube dress/shirt  decked out in the style of the american flag. Check out a few more pics and excerpts from the mag below:

On Getting Recognition from FLOTUS:
“I could not believe it….I thought at first it was just a rumor but then I watched and it was definitely real. I was shocked but also very proud that the White House approves my music for their precious daughters to listen to…. That I made an album that simply told my story, and that it could be appreciated by both a 14 year old girl and that girl’s Mother….I was chilling at home when a friend called me and I was screaming lol.”

On Her Dream Collaboration:
My dream collaboration at the moment would have to be with Frank Ocean or Luke James… I want to make a classic R&B collab like Marvin and Tammi Terrell. On a hip hop note, Drake on a song would be hot too!

On The Current State Of R&B:
“I think Rhythm and Blues is missing the “Blues.” That emotional hits-you-in-your-chest feeling that it was built on. The rhythms are there but the quality and content just aren’t what they used to be. Luckily there are a lot of artists right now not only making great R&B, but getting some mainstream shine as well. I plan to take my music to a worldwide level so R&B isn’t the one trying to squeeze into the picture but actually standing proud in the center of the photo.”

Elle Varner new album “Perfectly Imperfect” is in stores now. Her album is certified PLUM.
