Jennifer Hudson Tells Oprah She Forgives The Man Who Murdered Her Mother, Brother, And Nephew

The Power Of Forgiveness!

Jennifer Hudson appeared on Oprah’s Next Chapter show where she finally speaks publicly about the the murders of her mother, brother, and nephew [back in ], and the public trial and conviction of William Balfour [her then brother-in law who committed the horrific crime].

While those wounds are still a healing process for the star, Jennifer says that she is at peace with all that has happened  and she talks about her happier moments as a mother, wife, spokeswoman for weight watchers and more.

“I haven’t been to the grave site since we buried them. But now I want to go because I feel like we’ve accomplished this. We’ve done this. We got justice for you. I can’t come back here empty handed. I’ve came back with just being served.”

On the grieving process of her mother, brother and nephew:

“There were so many shocks involved in it. Like, who I do grieve for first or who do I start with? Of course I’m going to think of my mother because it’s my mother. I think of her a lot, next I think of Julian (nephew) or my brother. I have moments where it’s bits and pieces.”

On forgiving William Balfour:

For the most part it’s not his fault. It’s like what he was taught and how he was brought up…he never had a chance.”

Listen to ful interview and more as Jennifer talks about married life and being a mother.
