Subliminal raps are often display in the average rap song, but often times when names are mentioned in that subliminal rap line it’s seen as a blatant attack/criticism of the individual being named. This is exactly what happened when Nicki Minaj made reference in politics in a recent song she collaborated with Lil Wayne on his “Dedication 4” mixtape .
The rap line went as follows:
I’m a Republican voting for Mitt Romney /You lazy bitches is fucking up the economy….
Well, President Obama heard the rap line, and responded in an interview with Orlando’s Power 953. Rather than play too much into the discussion, he politely noted that Nicki is a rapper of many personalities and feels that it was probably one of Nicki’s alter ego characters that rapped the line instead. Here’s his response.
“I’m not sure that’s actually what happened,” Obama explained, when asked if he’d heard that Minaj might vote for Romney. “I think she had a song on there, a little rap that said that, but she likes to play different characters. So I don’t know what’s going on there.”
Nicki Minaj of course took that and rans with it on twitter feeling delighted that the president not only knows who she is but he also responded to her rap. Here what she rebuttled:
“Ha! Thank you for understanding my creative humor & sarcasm Mr. President, the smart ones always do… *sends love & support*
“Awesome! Now I can tell my grandchildren that the 1st black President of the United States took the time to address a Nicki Minaj question.”
“Thanks haters! Lmaoooooooooooooooooooooooo.”
#BarbzWinAgainahahhahaahhahahahahhahahahhahahahahhahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
What Nicki failed to mention is that President Obama is familiar with the politricks of the game [then she is] and was surely not going to entertain the outside ” CHATTER”.
Clearly, Nicki will be voting for Obama this November. She probably watch the National Democratic Convention last week and realize that Obama’s initiatives far exceeds the plans that Romney has for the urban communitiies in which Nicki was born.
