I’m pretty sure none of us knew that rapper French Montana was even married; much less going through a divorce. French Montana [who also is the lead spokesman of the Coke Boyz/Coke Girls t-shirts movement] has given viewers a surprising history of himself during an interview with boombox recently. While talking about his rise to fame, the “PopThat” rapper talked about it pros’ and con’s, and how his recent success ultimately impacted his personal life with his wife of nearly six years. SHOCKING!!!
Reportedly, the two have been separated for a few months, and are now in the process of calling it quits. The twist of this story is that French [real name Karim Karbouch] says one thing and his wife Deen Karbouch says another. Here’s French statement of it all:
“Man I couldn’t do it, that’s why we got separated. At first it was smooth, but then as much as people think that money changes you, it’s changing them around you. A person ain’t gonna treat you the same now that they think that you think you somebody.”
…..“You around so many beautiful women, that’s a conflict too. It’s just about finding somebody that understand the game, what you’re into. But then on the flip side of the coin, you gotta understand their game, what they into…There’s a flip side to everything.”
Now, Deen Kharbouch shares her side of the story [via twitter] and claims that she and her son was ABANDONED from the rapper once French success grew. In a series of tweets to her soon to be ex-husband and others, Deen says that French Montana flipped the minute he reach famed.
Check out the tweets below:
Hopefully, these two can come to some kind of resolve [amicably] for the sake of their son because this he said, she said rants that are being aired is not looking good for either of them. SMH!
Then again if the “Pop That” video was any indication of what French Montana was speaking of when he mentions the enormity of women that comes with the price of fame and the “temptation” of it all, then I can understand both sides of the story but when one throws around the word ABANDONMENT, that’s touching on a whole new subject and tapping into French’s parenting skills.
Stay tuned folks!
