As you may have heard, Lil Wayne dropped his new mixtape “Dedication 4” yesterday and despite the lack of applause of his new cd [which many people believe to be a flop coming from one of hip hop elite rappers], Nicki Minaj [who features on one of Wayne’s songs] was the center of discussion.
Minaj and Lil Wayne team up Kanye’s “Mercy” track, and the barbie rapper issued a controversial rap line that have many people whether or not she’s rooting for Romney this November. In the song Nicki raps:
I’m a Republican voting for Mitt Romney /
You lazy bitches is fucking up the economy/
Out in Miami, I be chilling with the Zombies/,
Dejandro, Diablo, Di Melo Gandi/
Now some republicans are praising the star for going against the grain and not voting for Barack Obama [because he’s black as they feel many black are doing] while others [including some republicans] are criticizing Nicki Minaj and declare her latest raps as yet another publicity stunt to stay relevant. and increase sale albums on her sophomore album.
What many people may not know is that Nicki has already expressed prior that she is not a fan of Obama when she spoke out about Obama’s health care program following the death of Moesha star, actress, Yvette Wilson who passed away from cancer due to lack of funds for proper treatment. Here’s what Nicki tweeted:
“What’s sad is that when Yvette was bringing home the bacon, the gov’t was probably taking millions. On her deathbed though, #Nowheretobefound,” she wrote.
“That should be a God given right! Even with Obama Care, too much involved. Just give FREE health care to all. @BarackObama what can we do?”
Nicki latest raps comes at the start of Democratic National Convention, and obviously she is not siding with Barack this November so the questions begs: Is Nicki Minaj endorsing Romney or is she pulling a publicity stunt? Afterall, not all black people are democrats , and everyone has the right to vote for whomever they choose.
