At least 10 people reportedly was shot in front of the Empire State Building in NYC at around 9am this morning.
The gunman who was shooting people at RANDOM before New York police arrived and killed the suspect on site. Here’s what were told:
“The shooting occurred around 9am this morning on 34th street and 5th avenue where the Empire State Building is located. The gunman reportedly ran up towards a man and shot him in the head and and unarmed guard began to chase him down reports and eye witness of ABC news.
One eye witness name Aliyah Imam tells Fox 5 News that she was standing at a red light when a woman standing next to her fell to the ground. She says the woman was hit in the hip. She says the gunman was “shooting indiscriminately at people.”
Another eye witness name Max Kaplan [who works in as nearby office building] said they heard nine shots fired off and says thatseveral ambulances were called to the scene. Police have closed several several streets around 5th Avenue and 34th Street in Manhattan.
The Empire State Building is one of the most famous skyscrapers in the world, and one of New York City’s best-known tourist attractions. Each year, about 4 million people visit the building’s two observation decks. At more than 1,453 feet tall, the landmark building reaches more than a quarter-mile into the sky.
