The aftermath continues, and as we stated prior SOMEBODY HAS TO PAY UP! In new court documents filed Tuesday (August 14th], the owner of Greenhouse is suing Chris Brown and Drake for $16 million , claiming that the singer/songwriters initiated the brawl [between their security]which resulted in the bottle throwing showdown that left 5 people injured , and the franchise club in a financial ruin from the fatal night of June 14th.
The Hufffington post reports:
“Entertainment Enterprises, which is registered to club owner Jon Bakhshi, filed the lawsuit in Manhattan Civil Supreme Court Tuesday, saying it owns the federal trademark to “Greenhouse.”
Before the June 14 dust-up, Entertainment Enterprises had reached an “agreement-in-principle” with another business to license the Greenhouse name and brand to nightclubs around the country, the lawsuit says.
[The business] was primarily interested in the cachet and prestige associated with the Greenhouse marks,” the lawsuit says but Entertainment Enterprises claims the interested party called off the deal when it learned of the incident, explaining that the Greenhouse marks were now associated with the kind of violent, life-threatening riot engaged in by [Brown and Drake], and that they were now worthless.”
The alleged incident was over singer Rihanna. NBA star, Tony Parker was among the injured party. He too filed a lawsuit in the amount of $20 million dollars after suffering an eye injury form a shattered glass which left the star ineligible to play in the 2012 Olympics game. The NYPD temporarily shut down Greenhouse and W.i.P [which is located at the bottom of Greenhouse] following the incident, but the club later re-opened after agreeing to pay a fine and hire more security.
Chris Brown has filed a police report following the incident and says that it was Drake’s entourage that started the altercation. I wonder who will be ordered to pay the hefty parties. Who do you think should pay?
