In her OWN words Oprah says she was pleasantly surprise of Rihanna’s character traits oppose to what she’s seen and heard of her through the media, videos, songs, twitter rants etc.
As you know, Oprah visited Rihanna in Barbados [where Ri-Ri was born and raised] for their candid 2 hour interview and needless to say the trip was a leasrning experience for Oprah and revelation for Ri-Ri.
In the preview clip below, Oprah is astonished by the love and support Ri-Ri gets her in her hometown which is completely opposite of how fans react to stars in the U.S. Ri-Ri visits the neghborhood of where she grew up and residents who grew and still reside there seemed unphazed by her popularity and call her by her birth name , Robyn.
Sidebar: I told ya’ll that caribbeans are not ‘idol worshippers’ [aside from the Lord of course] like others cause they feel like they the sh*t too. Unless your feeding their community, and keeping food on their tables, their worship the warlord on the corner instead. LOL.
Anywho, Oprah says;
“I thought she would have been kind of a bad-ass kind of a rocker hard-edge woman. Nothing could have been farther from the truth, She was thoughtful. She was very emotional. She was vulnerable.”

In related news, Rihanna and Oprah visit sparked national attention [as expected] and Ri-Ri offered to do an ad campaign for the island of Barbados to help boost tourism and travels. Who knows, if all goes well, Rihanna maybe named Ambassador of her native island like she was with Armani back in 2008.
