Nas Scores Sixth No.1 Album On Billboard 200 Chart

Nas achieves his sixth No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 as Life Is Good close to 150,00 in record sales in its first week,  according to Nielsen SoundScan. Nas album  scored higher than what  the “industry elite” predicted which was roughly close to $125,00.

The queens rapper now leads among his fellow rap vet’s Tupac, and Lil Wayne who tied eight billboard No.1 nod’s with him . Jay-Z leads the pack with 12 no.1 nod’s on the billboard chart.

Nas earned his previous No. 1s on the list with “It Was Written” (1996), the collaboration set “The Firm” (1997; with Foxy Brown, AZ and Nature), “I Am” (1999), “Stillmatic” (2002), “God’s Son” (2003), “Hip Hop Is Dead” (2007), “Untitled” (2008) and his “Distant Relatives” collabo with Damian Marley (2010).

When asked what he thought of his recent success and new album Nas says:

“I’m very humbled by this moment, much love to everybody. Thanks for the support,” he said. “It felt amazing. A good time in the rap game. It felt like the title. Everything was just flowing.”

The rapper also revealed that he will be doing a family oriented track with his ex-wife, singer Kelis [who is also the mother of his  thrree-year old son Knight]

“I’m doing a song for my son next. I already got half the first verse finished.”

Here’s Cherry Wine, one of my favorite songs off Nas new album “Life Is Good” . The song features the talented Amy Winehouse who is now deceased.
