London singer, Rita Ora is surely climbing the industry ladder with her hit singles “RIP, and Where Do They Do That At which landed her a spot as the opening act of Cold Play’s European tour. With the help and mentor of her boss Jay-Z and Rocnation management, Rita is carving her lane in the United States as well.
Rita just scored the cover of Complex August/September magazine issue speaks candidly about her success thus far, the infamous Rihanna comparisons, the status of her relationship with Rob Kardashian, her shoe game, and what’s she’s learning from Jay-Z and Kanye the legacy she seeking to be imprinted.

On Rihanna comparison and rumors of beef between the two:
“I admire Rihanna,” Ora explains. “She works her ass off. She hasn’t had a break and she has given people hit after hit after hit. That work ethic and discipline is hardcore. That’s the kind of sh** that I want to do. That I will do.”
“We made a joke out of it [via twitter],” Rita adds. “It’s love. Roc Nation is such an incredible, unique team, especially in the music industry. Everyone genuinely loves and cares about each other.”
On Her Shoe Game. Stiletto’s vs. Sneakers, Rita says grew up collecting Nike Airs and would choose a pair of sneakers over stilettos any day.
“I’m like a dude,” she admits. “Jordans are my favorite. I wear them all the time for shows. I can get girly-girly when I want to, but I can’t perform in heels. I would bust my face open on stage and we don’t want that.”
Rita has rumored to be wiht Rob Kardashian for quite some time now. In the mag, Rita says she met Rob through his sisters following the Watch The Throne Concert. When asked about her relationship with Rob and maintaing a long distance relationship, Rita replied:
“I mean, it’s not really a relationship. It’s not that intense. He’s a cool guy. We’re close. We’re good friends. I got his back and he’s got mine. To me, it doesn’t matter who you are or where you’re from—if you’re a good person and you got my back, I got yours. It’s that easy for me.”
When it comes to the state of Rocnation Rita says it’s UNITY and LOVE and Rita also says that she’s learning so much from Jay-Z and Kanye.
“Roc Nation is such an incredible, unique team, especially in the music industry. Everyone genuinely loves and cares about each other…..“Jay and Kanye, their minds are on a different level. It’s out of this world how talented they are.” Still she insists she’s no longer starstruck around her boss. “I was when I first got signed, knowing what he’s done and the empire he’s created,” she admits. “But he’s one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. He made me feel so at ease that I forgot he was Jay for a minute. He turned into this brother figure and an amazing boss.”
