Since its release on May 15, the anticipation of the video game Diablo III has release a number of marathon play sessions, but one fan’s obsession with the game has proven fatal.
An 18-year old Diablo III player in Taiwan was found dead recently after playing the game for 40-hour. The player, who has only been identified as Chuang, reported by the Australian associated press, Chuang booked a room at his local Internet café before diving into the game, hasn’t sleep or eaten any food the entire time. An employee of the café found him passed out on the table. He woke up when approached, but collapsed after a few steps and was rushed to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead. An autopsy is pending, but authorities noted that the long period of sitting still could have created blood clots, which would be the cause of death.
Unfortunately this is not the first time someone has died playing video games for long periods of time in Taiwan this year. Cheng Rong Yu had a fatal hearth attack at a different cafe, while playing on the Internet in Taipei the smash hit, League of Legends. Fellow players, unaware he was dead til nine hour later. In 2011 two people found dead staying u playing marathon video games. I know certain pass time sport or video games can be very additive, consumers can’t always set thr rules and regulations, but there is a limit to everything. and grown people should set better standards for them self and their children on the amount of time spent on these games. People should find a healthier way to pass their time.
