Here’s Some Good News!
Noted film director, Spike Lee [who was also a friend of music icon Michael Jackson] is said to be working on a documentary film about MJ’s “Bad” album [which is slated to debut later this year]. Talk about great timing! This year marks the 25th anniversary since the release of Michael Javkson’s “Bad” album and Columbia records will re-release the classical album on Sept 18th.
The album will include a few bonus features such as additional tracks [that never made the original cut] , a DVD, and other unseen material. Spike Lee says he too has learned so much of his late friend while seeping through footage for his documentary.
It’s Like A Treasure of Findings, says Lee.
Lee went on to tell the huffington post that:
We have footage in this documentary that no one’s ever seen, stuff that Michael shot himself, behind-the-scenes stuff,” reveals. We had complete access to the vaults of Michael Jackson. … He wrote 60 demos for the `Bad’ record. Only 11 made it. So we got to hear a lot of that stuff, too, so it was just a great experience.
Lee, who hosts annual parties for MJ syas that this year the theme of the party will be centered around the Bad album. Furthermore, Lee reveals that his documentary will promise a different side of MJ that was rarely shown on camera; MJ’s personality .
He had a great sense of humor, and he was funny – so you’ll see a lot of that stuff. As for the party Lee says: This year we’re going to focus on the `Bad’ album, we’re going to focus on the 25th anniversary, but at the same time we’re going to play his full catalog, including the Jackson 5 and the Jacksons… “It’s going to be even bigger and better this year.
Sounds like a great film. I’ll be watching. Will You?
