Uncle Sam Is Not To Be Messed With!
Rapper Beanie Sigel has been sentenced in Philadelphia to two years in prison for failing to file federal income tax returns. Sigel, 38 [who’s real name is Dwight Grant] was sentenced in a federal court yesterday [July 12th] by a judge. The Philly rapper was ordered to render his service beginning on Sept 12th.
Sigel reportedly owes an estimate of $700,000 in taxes from 1999 through 2005. Sigel told the judge that “his family depleted all of his funds” while he was serving a prior drug charge bid back in 2004 , and how he never full recovered his rap career since his release in 2005. However, Sigel says that he accepts “Full Responsiblity” for not paying his taxes and the judge surely gave him the jail penalty that comes with the federal crime.
