Is It Our Business? Yes or No?
Willow Smith stirs up more media controversy this weekend after posting a pic of herself [alongside a friend] with a metal tongue ring. It seems that everything that Willow does is not of the ‘NORM’ of her peers her age and some folks are upset with her behavior.
Willow 11, also faced the public scrutiny when she shaved off her head a few months prior, then again when she decided to dye her hair green. Now, Willow addressed then that she initially chopped her hair off in support of a her ill friend who was forced to shave off her hair meanwhile Willow’s parents [Will and Jada] parental role came into question.
Now people, this is a young girl who is going through numerous transitions in her life and because she is a celebrity, unfortunately her life is on public display and the whole world is watching her every move. Willow parents have already stated publicly that they feel like ‘hyprocrites’ when they attempt to restrict all of Willow’s freedom and therefore approve of some of her creative ways and therefore support her “freedoms of expressions”. So whether you disagree or agree with her decision to implant metal objects in her mouth, PUT A SOCK IN IT, because her parents are the head of her household and if they approve then we best all MOVE ON from this conversation.
However, we all know the message that is often associated with a tongue ring. Women [young or old] who carry a tongue ring are often characterized as freaky, sexual and/ or a fan of oral pleasure [not my words but the public consensus of men mostly].
