The Hypocrisy Continues!
Lil Wayne has finally commented on his reasoning for pulling Nicki Minaj performance from the 2012 Summer Jam Concert. As you may recall, Nicki [at the advice of her boss Lil Wayne] decided to cancel her performance at Hot 97’s Summer Jam after she was publicly called out by Hot 97’s Morning VJ, Rosenberg, regarding her commercial hit song “Starships” during the pre-festival show.
Well, Lil Wayne spoke with MTV News recently and offered up his explanation and needless to say, his response is quite interesting. Lil Wayne says his sole reason for preventing Nicki from performing was because Hot 97 broke his golden rule which is to NEVER DISRESPECT A FEMALE. Here’s what he said:
The way I look at it is that’s a female; first and foremost, Nicki Minaj is a female. I don’t know what anyone else believes, but I believe females deserve the ultimate respect at all times no matter, when or where or how.
And he continues:
As soon as she called me and told me she felt disrespected, I just declined everything. I pulled her from the show because … no person that works with me [and I say work with me, because no one works for me] will be disrespected in my presence as long as I’m on this planet.
I have one sentence in response to Wayne’s comment.
Wayne – SERIOUSLY! You sound RIDICULOUS and You Should’ve Of Definitely Looked In The Mirror Before Commenting
Unless Wayne can show me his music industry handbook that clearly states that his employment contract remains in effect ONLY if he agree’s to defame and degrade women of his own race in his songs [and I’m not even going to go any further because this post would become too personal] then I will stand in my decision. Wayne: Your A Complete Hypocrite on this one!
