Well, The Stew Just Thickened Once More!
Nicki Minaj’s no show at Summer Jam continues to be the topic at hand. As fans debate on whether Nicki should have/have not performed [despite Lil Wayne decision to pull her off of the line-up, Nicki remains loyal to her boss [Wayne] and Young Money team and stands by her decision.
Last night the rapper called into the Funkmaster Flex show and she hit back [verbally] to Flex and Rosenberg for their initial diss of her at Summer Jam. Nicki then called into Power 105.1 this morning to thank them for their continued support and stated that she would be giving her New York fans a free concert instead.
Well, Hot 97 frontman Ebro Darden appeared on the radio earlier today and he weighed his two cents on the whole incident. Similar to Nicki Ebro remained loyal to his Hot 97 team and reaffirmed that Nicki was not the Headliner for Summer Jam.
As for the whole Starships comment by Rosenberg Ebro says..
I think its deeper than that, and it’s not with her. Many years ago Lil Wayne had our differences here at Hot 97. See alot of people don’t know I’ve know Slim and Baby since the early 90’s before they was getting money. I’ve been in the buisness 22 years so there’s alot of things I know that’s why I don’t do radio [I know to much]
Was Nicki happy about what happened? No. But when I heard the threat that Nicki she may have a issue coming that night…You know look- Summer Jam does never has headliner, Summer Jam is the headliner. So when I heard the threat I said: So What! Because I love Nicki, I’ve been riding with her since she put out the wrong singles like Massive Attack. I’ve been with her. We support her. We support the records that people don’t like her but we support her because she’s from Queens.
When you buy a ticket for Summer Jam, it’s says Hot97’s Summer Jam. There’s not an artist name on the ticket. So it wasn’t that day I heard that Nicki wasn’t going to perform. I had already been working on Ms. Hill [Lauren Hill] . The only reason why we didn’t announce NAS is because he was suppose to Nicki’s surprise because we want to help Nicki do the Queen’s thing….

Ebro speaks Part 1
As for Rosenberg getting fired for his statement: Ebro say’s : Absolutely Not! Listen below.
Ebro speaks Part 2
Can’t we all just get along I love Lauren Hill’s response to this whole incident. Take a listen to what she had to say:
No disrespect to Nicki, but I need to clear up an inaccuracy. I was not scheduled to be a special guest on her set at Summer Jam, I was invited by Nas to perform with him. I don’t have details on exactly what transpired between the station and the artists, but I do support artists standing by their beliefs, and walking with integrity.
We have to find a better way to commercially exploit music, while giving artists their proper respect. This cannot be done while taking their contributions for granted, or trying to control the scope of their growth and power through threats and fear tactics. We can do better than this, there is a better way, or else ‘we’ (the proverbial we) find ourselves in danger of being hypocrites!!!
Ms. Lauryn Hill
