[Confirmed] Terrence J And Rocsi Bid Farewell To BET

After weeks of speculation and rumors Terrence J and Rocsi have announced their resignation as host from the BET hit show 106th & Park.

Terrence J will be transitioning into a new hosting role on ‘E’ news alongside Guiliana Rancic and Rocsi [who apparently made her decision just moments before the announcment] will be heading to the west coast to pursue an acting career.

The two shared their fondest moments of the show including the Haiti Earthquake, President Obama’s election and inauguration, the death of Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston. The two also gave a special thanks to the fans who supported them throughout their seven-year employment.

After an amazing seven years of being on this show, we have decided together that we will be soon leaving 106 and Park as your hosts,” started Terrence J. “This by no stretch of the imagination has been an easy decision, but it’s the right one. And it has come after a lot of prayer, a lot of thought and a lot of consideration.

We are humbled at the opportunity to be a part of your lives,” he added, assuring fans that “we have a huge farewell show coming for you guys. We’re going to be leaving with a bang!

Watch it all go down here:

Sidebar: Word on the street is that Terrence and Rocsi heard of their depature through the media [yeah that’s right, the blogs, and social networks] and after confronting the network they was informed the same.

Whether or not their contract was set to expire there clearly is no love lost here. These two have accomplished so much from being on the show and have been afforded alot of opportunities as well so there’s much more in store from them and I’m sure we’ll be seeing them in television realm in the near future. Best of luck!

Stephen J. Hill [President of Music Programming & Specials for BET Networks] released this statement:

Today, after seven exciting years, 106 & Park hosts Terrence J and Rocsi announced that they will be leaving the show. It is no secret that there are a number of opportunities coming their way and we’re fortunate that they’ve been with 106 & Park for so long. They will be staying on the show for a while, so that we can have a “victory lap” — a celebration of their years at the helm of 106 & Park — before their departure. Terrence J and Rocsi are destined for great success and we at BET Networks will always take pride in being their original home — and be a place where I hope they’ll always feel welcome.
