Say Hello To The G.O.O.D Music Family!
Now I see why Ye doesn’t carry a cellphone. I didn’t get it at first but it’s all clear now. Between his romance with reality star Kim Kardashian, his music career [which is quite extensive], and building his label roster, Kanye clearly has his hands full 24/7.
Kanye surely memorized the industry memo when he first signed on because he is wasting no time building his empire. Last week, we reported Kanye and Kim-K in Qatar as Ye debuted his new independent film “Cruel Summer” at the Cannes film festival but to my surprise Kanye West was also debuting his new G.O.O.D Music family [excluding John Legend and Kid Cudi who signed to Ye years prior].
Dressed in Middle Eastern and Moroccan style garbs, Kanye West poses with new music family. [From L-R] we have: Pusha T, Nigerian singer D’Banj, 2 Chainz, Big Sean, Mr. Hudson, Teyana Taylor, Hit-Boy and CyHi The Prynce. It’s Take Over season! Now that the film has been aired, the G.O.O.D music family will be releasing their new compilation album entitled ‘Cruel Summer‘ and most of the songs are also featured in the film which is slated to hit the states shortly.
Sidebar: Doesn’t this sound familiar. Rocafella did the same thing back in when they were forming their ‘Take Over’ roster and they produced a few movies too [but most of their films catered more to the urban crowd and not to other demographics] . However, Ye learned and studied alot on that tour [back when he was producer for the Rocafella] and now that he’s traveled around the world’ he knows just what it takes to reach the ladder of success.
The 30 min film stars G.O.O.D music artist Kid Cudi who plays a car thief and ultimately falls for a blind Arabian princess however, inter-racial dating is not permitted in her culture. Nonetheless, The princess father allows Cudi to marry her under one condition: Cudi is to make her see again and he does through the power of music.
Make room Young Money; there’s some new blood in town!
