Pat Houston seems to be the center of the attentions these days?
Award shows used to be a night of celebration, performance and occasional honoring of a music legend and or celebrity humanitarian recognition but these days, awards shows have become a drama fest along with a fashion fiasco of the who wore it best. Well, last night drama stirred up between Ray-J [singer/alleged lover of Whitney Houston] and Whitney’s assistant/sister-in-law, Pat Houston.
The two is alleged to have gotten into a small feud over seating arrangements at the Billboard Awards [which aired last night May 20th] after Ray-J moved from his seat and sat next to Bobbi-Kris [Whitney’s daughter] just before John Legend and Jordan Sparks performed their tribute song to Whitney Houston. According to close witnesses, Pat issued security to get Ray-J removed and the two got into a heated word exchanged. However, Pat tells a different story of the incident and alleges that she is “too classy” to have done such a thing.
Sidebar: Doesn’t this sound familiar? There was also a seating issue for Bobby Brown and his entourage at Whitney’s funeral. Maybe I’m over thinking but it’s just something about Pat Houston that makes me go Hmm? Her actions and bodily language always tell a different story from her words.
According to HipHollywood, Pat recalls the following:
Pat explained that she had possession of six tickets for seats near the front of the stage at the Billboard Music Awards Show. Sitting in those seats were, Bobbi Kristina, her boyfriend Nick, a friend and two seat-fillers. At some point, Ray J moved from his original location to an open seat near Bobbi Kristina.
The production staff saw Ray J move and asked him to please return to his original seat. We’re told Ray J refused. Hotel staff/security witnessed Ray J’s refusal and stepped-in to ask him to return to his seat. Ray J again reportedly refused. After multiple attempts to get Ray J to return to his seat with no success, the Las Vegas Police were called by production staff to remove Ray J. Upon their arrival, Pat Houston was made aware of the situation, and told her security to inform the Police to “Stand-down” and that as the ticket holder, she would allow Ray J to remain in the seat.
Pat did not want Ray J removed and says all claims are completely FALSE, telling us, “Im a woman of order and dignity, I would have not had anything to do with that”
We reached out to Ray J’s camp for comment. They stand by initial reports.
Interestingly, it was also reported that Pat Houston made an initial fuss about accepting Whitney’s award oppose to Bobbi-Kris, and judging from her acceptance speech before passing the throne to the sole heir in charge I believe that to be true.
Ray-J, move far away from the Houston’s for it is clear that they don’t want no parts of you. Now if I’m playing devil’s advocate, Pat maybe on the agreeing side of Leolah Brown [Bobby Brown’s sister] who publicly expressed that Ray-J was a runner boy for Whitney [one who picks up and deliver the drugs to the consumer] and potentially the one who gave her the bad bag that caused her death. Now that’s an explosive statement!
Pat even told Oprah that she thought Whitney was looking for love in all the wrong places. Clearly, she was talking about Ray-J [who was the only one painted as her lover] because Bobby and Whitney parted ways in Sept of 2006. Now Ray-J need to clear up that statement because it’s truly hindering his character for sure.
