The Annual White House Correspondent Association Dinner kicked off this past weekend. A list celebs, journalists, comedians, politicians [democrats & republicans] and government officials came together for a night of fun and jokes at the 98th annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington DC.
The star-studded event brought out A-list celebs including George Clooney, Wolf Blizter, Viola Davis, Kerry Washington, Gayle King, Mary J.Blige, Alicia Keys, Rashida Jones, Lindsay Lohan, even Kim Kardashian [who the president said he wasn’t too fond of]
The President lent a few jokes himself but there was one joke that stood that has many “eyebrows” raised this morning. President Obama shouted out the Rapper Jeezy [aka The ‘Snowman’] during his speech at the 2012 White House Correspondents Association Dinner in Washington, D.C. last night. Obama said:
In my first term I sang Al Green. In my second term, I’m going with Young Jeezy,” Barack then turned to Michelle and saysturning to First Lady Michelle Obama. “I sing that to her sometimes.
Rapper, Jeezy flattered by the compliment, said this via twitter:
Shout out to @BarackObama,” You know they love the snowman in the white house
Now we all know, Obama is a rap fanatic and the annual correspondent dinners is all about jokes but do you think Obama referencing a rapper [who raps about selling drugs “snowman” to kids] was the right or wrong thing to do?
