Tami Roman And Evelyn Respond To Petition Against Evelyn Lozado

Tami Roman, Shaunie O'neal, and Evelyn Lozado

As the online petition grows to band basketballwives star, Evelyn Lozado new reality spin-off show Chad and Evelyn, Shaunie O’neal [executive producer of the show] and Tami Roman [co-star and friend] are speaking out in Evelyn’s defense.

Tami Roman makes it clear in her interview with Sister2Sister magazine that Evelyn is in dyre need of a new attitude and behavior but she says most of the ownership lies with producers of the show who exclude all the positives and constantly show the drama.

I can’t judge Evelyn [Lozada]. She has to work toward change. People don’t give us the benefit of the doubt or take that into consideration. Did Evelyn need to run over the table?  Maybe not. Did Nia have to go over and slap Jennifer? Maybe not. I still don’t believe that warrants this big all-out movement against women who are really just showing our lives.

I come with my storyline and things that I want to introduce and low and behold what they want to show are those dramatic moments. There is more to us. I have thought about leaving, I would love to see a season 5 where VH1 and Shed Media are called out to show more positive things that we’re doing and show us how we are 90 percent of the time, instead of how we are 10 percent of the time. I would love to see the brand in and of itself go out on a more positive note. What they are seeing is a part of my personality. I’m not trying to take back my actions, but that’s not who I am all the time.

Tami also noted that one shouldn’t have to lose their employment because of the boss choices. C’mon Tami – even you know that if you so much as argue with a co-worker on the job, you can be fired. But every office comes with their own set the rules and therefore if the producers [the boss] supply the rules and you[ the employee] don’t want to oblige by the rules – then you can seek a new job!

Shaunie O’neal interviewed with HipHollywood and she remained loyal to her friend Eve with her diplomatic response. Rather than admitting that Eve is a bully she called Eve’s persnality “strong” and defends her actions by saying as a friend she often confronts her friends [when their steeping out of line] yet she has no control of her friends behavior.

People are like: Why do you let people say this and that? They are grown women but at the same time I will say, You really need to bring that down like 17 notches like I don’t see why you need to come in at 50! You need to come in at like 13. Let’s talk it out, let’s use our words , but it never ever works!

Now that celebrities have joined in the fight with Change.org against Eve [including the recent twitter movement started by Star Jones “Enough is Enough” ] and the s–t is hitting the fan. Shaunie O’neal released another statement  to minimize the damage.

I’m extremely happy that Basketball Wives continues to have another successful fourth season. As the ratings have been through the roof since our season opener, fans continue to tune into the lives of Evelyn, Tami, Jennifer, Royce, Suzie and myself. As there is always controversy and indifference projected on the show, because we are all individual personalities, I always hope that people will find that as much as you may agree or disagree with the opinions, the behavior, [and] even our different taste in shoes, you are taking a look inside the lives of four complete different women. I will never say I agree with some of the behavior between my girlfriends on the show, but if we were to edit certain things out the show would be scripted and not reality.

As a woman of color with kids, I am very aware of myself, but I also have to be aware that my choices cannot be the same for everyone on the show and I have to respect that. I hope the fans feel they see a balance and know we have always been real with our stories, even though it may not always be a positive portrayal of adult women but real women nonetheless. I look forward to developing other media platforms in the future and hope that fans will continue to support

Spoken like a true diplomat! Notice how she talked about the ratings? Shaunie I’m sue you heard that “Birds Of A Feather Flock Together” and you know damn well that Evelyn bullied Jen, Keshia, and the other new chick. Why? Because you and Eve knew that Jen was never a fighter and the same of the new girls, so for Eve to act a damn fool [jumping across tables, throwing bottles, antiques, while saying her infamous “Imma Sting You Everytime I See You” would most certainly increase and or sustain the ratings like the other shows.

I plead the Star Jones on this one. “Us women Need To Strive For Excellence”. Enough Is Enough!
