Carmen Bryan [Nas Babymother] Angered By Nas “Daughters”

The Pot Calling The Kettle Black!

Nas newly released song “Nas Daughter’s” [an apology letter to his daughter Destiny for his lack of appropriate parenting and call to action for fathers to break the cycle] has everyone talking. But while many people [including me] are praising Nas for his candid lyrics, his babymother Carmen Bryan seems to be “displeased” by it all.

Nas debut the track on Thursday [April 26] and Carmen took to twitter to share her anger of it all.

Just heard’Daughters’ by Nas. What a disappointment! He had nothing positive to say about our daughter and his depiction of her is false

I can’t help but ask: Did she listen to the song? Their daughter, Destiny sparked twitter controversy earlier this year [Feb 2012] after she issued a series of inappropriate tweets on her twitter account one of which she bragged about keeping condoms at her bedside. Many fans of Nas and parents were shocked by Destiny’s behavior and her parental guidance and upbringing immediately came into question.

While it was great to see that Destiny believes and practices safe sex, many people believe [including me] that her tweets actually exposed her promiscuity. Destiny account was deleted and now Nas finally responds to the question everyone wanted to know then: Could Nas [the lyrically illest and most concious rapper who speaks out against many injustices]  be the cause of his daughter’s behavior and or whether Carmen  [who wrote a tell-all book “It’s No Secret” on her affair with rapper Jay-Z while she was with Nas] should be blamed

Carmen- Now isn’t that “The Pot Calling The Kettle Black” ?

Similar to Carmen’s reasoning for writing her side of the story, Nas does the very same in his song “Daughters”. As a parent myself, I totally agree with with Carmen, that as parents of Destiny, Nas should’ve of informed her of the song prior to releasing it [as she did when she decided to write her book after Jay-Z release Take-Over track] and I see why she felt the need to protect her daughter’s name but if she’d listen to the song she can clearly see that Nas is owning his part and bring a call to action to the fathers of the world. If I’m not mistaken, isn’t that the same reason why you wrote your book?

I can go on for days but I’ll leave it at that. To The Men’s Of The World, Especially Black Men- Take Your Place and Man-Up!  To All My Women who have lost their way [including the so called hoes, prostitutes strippers, groupies, jump off’s etc] – Take Your Place!

People- Who’s side are you on?

Listen to the song and tell us what you think?
