The death of Whitney Houston has taken an enormous toll on her rumored on and off again lover singer, Ray-J.
Ray-J did a complete one-eighty!
The outspoken bachelor took a hiatus from his social life and went absent from media radar after Whitney’s death. Recent photos captured Ray-J looking grim, somber, and facially un-groomed, and many wondered if he was slipping into a depressive state given the sudden tragedy of his long-time lover and friend.
Ray-J finally broke his silence at the Brotherhood Crusade/Mothers In Action press conference on Friday, March 9th. Us Magazine caught up with singer at the BCMIA event, and the singer reveals that he is still grieving and hurting over the loss Whitney Houston.
It’s just such a tough time for me. I’ve been through a lot in these past few weeks,” the singer and VH1 reality star said…I’m able to look at life in a whole different way. I always look at my phone because I got a picture of somebody I really love and it helps me through the day.
Ray-J also reveals to Us magazine that he has a great support team around him to help through this difficult time and he is using that energy [which he calls peace] to change his life and to help others as well.
I’m here to spend time with them, laugh with them and make sure they [the children of BCMIA] have everything they need to move on in a positive way with their education in life.
I’m really emotional right now and I really don’t know what to say…. But I will say I love and hurt. I enjoy being around people that support me and give me a sense of peace. That’s what these kids mean to me and what the Brotherhood Crusade does for me.
The most important thing of all is that God is talking to me. God is talking to me right now, and now is the time to listen.My ears are open.
The early and sudden death of Whitney Houston was unexpected and is still of surprise to many of her fans and friends, so we cannot even fathom to know what her loved ones and those of whom that were close to her are going through.
It is often said that with sudden tragedy comes great change; and it seems as though Ray-J is ready to turn over a new leaf in wake of Whitney Houston’s death. We wish him well on his healing recovery.
