Move over Rhianna!
Rita Ora is Roc Nation’s rising newest artist and word on the street is that she’s the next big pop star. Backed by her mentor and boss Jay-Z, Rita emerges onto the music scene with pop r&b edge sound similar to her label mate, Rhianna. Rumors have surfaced that Jay-Z has already begun the replacement process since his semi-fued with Rhianna over her decision to add Chris Brown on the remix of Birthday cake”.
Anywhoo – Jay-Z accompanied his new signee to radio station Z100 earlier this week to premiere Rita’s first single ‘Party & Bullshit’ which he features on and only a few days later a new song of Rita’s hit the internet.
This is so like Jay-z? He’s a marketing genius-for real!
Rita’s new song is entitled “R.I.P” and in her interview she explains the inspiration behind the new track.
This is a song about me saying to the guy ‘R.I.P’ to the girl you use to see her days are over. I’ve decided to give you all of me.” When Drake wrote that I was just like it makes so much sense to me that I would love to sing this song. I wouldn’t sing a song if I didn’t connect to it.
Sidebar: Jay-Z stated that Rita’s radio appearance was “a spear of the moment thing”. Hmm?
