Why Did Bobby Brown Leave Whitney Houston’s Funeral 15 minutes After He Arrived?

The world tuned in to watch music legend, Whitney Houston ‘Home Going’ funeral service this past weekend Sat. Feb 18th, 2012. Undeniably Houston’s service was traditional and yet remarkable. The four- hour service that celebrated Houston’s life and career packed more than 1,500 at New Hope Baptist Church. But there was one thing that many people
that many people were also talking about; Houston’s ex-huband, Bobby Brown.

An emotional Bobby Brown was seen leaving Houston’s funeral just 15 minutes after service had begun. Rumors immediately hit the internet citing that there was a slight confrontation ensued between Brown and Houston’s family and therefore he was asked to leave.

As the service concluded, reporters tried to inquire about the incident and despite several attempts, celebrity guests downplayed the incident as if it never occurred. However, Bobby Brown released a statement explaining why he had walked out of Houston’s funeral.

My children and I were invited to the funeral of my ex-wife Whitney Houston. We were seated by security and then subsequently asked to move on three separate occasions.

I fail to understand why security treated my family this way and continue to ask us and no one else to move. Security then prevented me from attempting to see my daughter Bobbi-Kristina. In light of the events, I gave a kiss to the casket of my ex-wife and departed as I refused to create a scene.

My children are completely distraught over the events. This was a day to honor Whitney. I doubt Whitney would have wanted this to occur. I will continue to pay my respects to my ex-wife the best way I know how.

Brown said the show must go on and Brown did just that. He performed later Saturday with his group, New Edition, in Connecticut and said this at the start of the show:

“I want to throw up two (meaning two fingers) to Whitney”. Whitney Houston, I love you,” says Brown to the audience at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville.

Brown’s son, Bobby Jr (on left) was also upset with how things went down at Whitney’s service and expressed it on facbook.

F*ck Fame. Sh*t ain’t everything it seems. I’ll never let them transform me. Everything is a show to these people. We came to show respect. And they tried to make it a ‘show’. Krissi I love you with all of my heart. Whitney I love you with all my heart. Rest Easy step momma.

Bobby Brown went on to say that he he’d hope that they [Whintey’s family] would of been more considerate of him as his family was to Whitney when his mother away last year. Bobby Brown says that he is not seeking any legal custody for Bobbi-Kristina and will just leave it in the hands of the God.
