We all know Nicki Minaj knows how to make media headlines despite if its negative or bad press and last night was no different. The rapper/pop singer stepped out in a red hood Versace garb alongside a catholic priest on the red carpet of the 54th Annual Grammy Ceremony. She later performed ‘Roman Holiday which was inspired from the Exorcism movie which the rapper says she is a huge fan of.
Well, many people were displeased with Nicki’s wardrobe and performance, and earlier today Nicki responds to the critics
on Ryan Seacrest show.
Nicki On Her Grammy Entrance
“Um well, he is a major part of the story and the movie that I’m writing about.. one of my alter-egos, his name is Roman. And basically the religious figure was there because he was called upon by Roman’s mom to rehabilitate him and that’s pretty much it”.
Nicki on Her Outfit Choice
“I wasn’t going to do the red carpet. I’d plan on doing just my performance and that’s it but my people said… I had this for you.. it was Versace, they flew it from Milan, I was like Oh My God.. I got to wear it”.
On Her Performance
“The Grammys chose ‘Roman Holiday.’ The producers of the Grammys came to the studio and I played them ‘Roman Holiday, and I could not play them another record after they heard that. They went crazy. I could have chosen to do a no-brainer pop song, but I can’t do it anymore. I have to stay true to what I’m doing.”
