Life Goes On!
The Pre-Grammy party went on as planned. Music mogul Clive Davis arrived at his annual pre-Grammy party looking somber and dull. His protege singer and songwriter, Alicia Keys greeted Davis with a hug and they proceeded to the event.
Whitney was scheduled to open the show with Davis but unfortunately never got the chance to, due to her sudden death at the Beverly Hills Hilton Hotel yesterday. According to the Washington Post, ‘the event, not surprisingly, turned into a partial tribute to Houston, with Davis leading a moment of silence for for the “I Will Always Love You” singer”.
Whitney was a beautiful person and a talent beyond compare,” he said in tribute to the woman he mentored, according to Billboard. “She graced this stage with her regal presence and gave so many memorable performances here over the years. Simply put, Whitney would have wanted the music to go on, and her family asked that we carry on – said Davis.
Monica and Brandy were scheduled to perform but they were reportedly too distraught over Houston’s death to do so. Brandy must be overwhelmed and shocked by it all. Her birthday is Feb 11, and a day that is to be special and celebrated now comes with the tragedy and remembrance of one of the biggest music legends of our time. SMH!
