Well the rumors are true!
Steve Jones, Nicole Sherzinger and Paula Abdul have all been axed from the X-Factor show.
Closes sources of Cowell says that he wants to switch up the cast and boost up the ratings of the show. Clearly VJ host, Steve Jones did not live up to his role as a judge and many viewers often criticized him for his lack of ability to connect with viewers on camera. Seems like Simon is used to the Ryan Seacrest type; one with humor and a more hip and young personality and Steve was way too polished and poised for the role.
Now as for as Nicole and Paula the news comes more of a shock than anything. Nicole seem to be a good candidate; she’s young, talented and more candid than Paula but she often challenged and opposed Simon’s judging so I guess that was not a good thing and ultimately got herself canned from the show. But of course sources say otherwise.
According to reports Scherzinger wanted to refocu on her music career and felt that X-Factor show was taking too much of her time.
She wants to focus on her music career. She’s spoken to Simon Cowell and he’s given her his blessing … ‘X Factor’ took a lot more of her time than she ever expected. She didn’t have any time really to work on her music. She was doing ‘X Factor’ six days a week, says their source.
Now Paula, this is the shocker of them all; she’s a close friend of Cowell, she comes with the knowledge and experience, but she is also overly emotional and doesn’t like to get into hot seat when necessary so I guess Cowell expected Paula to switch it up second time around. The odd thing of it all is Cowell had the show’s attorney’s conduct the firing rather than telling her himself. That was definitely a low blow but I’m pretty sure Paula got a nice severance package and her friendship with Cowell will continue. People thought they were no longer friends when she left ‘American Idol’ but then she ended up on the X-Factor show. Maybe she’ll get another gig of Cowell’s somewhere else.
