Arizona Governor Jan Brewer And President Obama Have A Heated Exchange!

President Obama and Arizona gov. Jan Brewer got into a heated exchange during their encounter at Phoenix airport.

As show above, Brewer came to greet the president on the tarmac on Wednesday Jan. 25. Brewer handed an envelope to the president which included a lunch invitation and a visit to border for her and the president to attend. Minutes later she sounded off on the president; pointing her fingers and all.

I said to him, you know, I have always respected the office of the president and that the book is what the book is,” she told reporters Wednesday. She said Obama complained that she described him as not treating her cordially”.

The president also shared a few words to Brewer, for what she wrote in her new book Scorpions for Breakfast, a memoir of her years growing up in Arizona. “He was a little disturbed about my book”says Brewer”. In the book Brewer talks of her distaste for the president when she met him two years ago; citing that she felt belittled and and treated like a child in a classroom during her discussion with the president on immigration.

“I felt a little bit like I was being lectured to, and I was a little kid in a classroom, if you will, and he was this wise professor and I was this little kid, and this little kid knows what the problem is and I felt minimized to say the least.”

Of course, Brewer later apologized. “I said that I was sorry that he felt that way. Anyway, we’re glad he’s here, and we’ll regroup.” Obama and Brewer proceeded with the agenda and went on to discuss politics. I’m sure he gave a verbal lashing for pointing her fingers, hence the reason for her quick apology.

The two managed to put their differences aside and continued their meeting behind closed doors. Is the President being a little sensitive or was he right to confront Brewer?

Brewer recently published a book, Scorpions for Breakfast, a memoir of her years growing up in Arizona.

In the book she also defends her signing of Arizona’s controversial law cracking down on illegal immigrants, which Obama opposes.

She describes meeting the President at the White House in 2010 to talk about immigration.

“I felt a little bit like I was being lectured to, and I was a little kid in a classroom, if you will, and he was this wise professor and I was this little kid, and this little kid knows what the problem is and I felt minimized to say the least.”

On the tarmac Wednesday, Brewer handed Obama an invitation to return to Arizona to meet her for lunch and to join her for a visit to the border.

“I said to him, you know, I have always respected the office of the president and that the book is what the book is,” she told reporters Wednesday. She said Obama complained that she described him as not treating her cordially.

“I said that I was sorry that he felt that way. Anyway, we’re glad he’s here, and we’ll regroup.”
