Eddie Murhpy has announced yesterday that he will not be hosting the 84th Oscar Academy Awards.
Murphy’s split from the Oscar’s right after his producer Brett Ratner resigned from the Oscars on Tuesday after coming under fire for using an anti-gay slur at “Tower Heist” screening.
“I appreciate how Eddie feels about losing his creative partner, Brett Ratner, and we all wish him well,” Academy president Tom Sherak said.
Murphy said this in a statement:
“First and foremost, I want to say that I completely understand and support each party’s decision with regard to a change of producers for this year’s Academy Awards ceremony,” Murphy said in a statement.”I was truly looking forward to being apart of the show …that our production team and writers were just starting to develop, but I’m sure that the new production team and host will do an equally great job”.
Guess we won’t be seeing any nutty professor jokes! And I was looking forward to Eddie saying Hercules Hercules!!!
