With all the hype surround Jay-Z and Kanye Watch The Throne Tour, Lil Wayne and Drake have decided to forfeit their joint LP. Weezy and Drake opted out of the joint album citing that “this is not the time”. To avoid comparisons and criticisms of being a ‘copycat’ to Jay and Ye the two decided to take high road and scrapped the joint album altogether.
Drake recently met with XXL magazine and said:
“Me and Wayne scrapped the idea of a collaboration album,” Drake revealed to XXL-Mag.com yesterday. “We just agreed that it would be looked upon as…It would be sort of this competition [with Watch The Throne]. I feel like it would get caught in this whirlwind of hype. [Wayne] agreed. We just said, ‘If we do it, we’ll do it down the line. But right now is not the time.”
I suspect that Drake and Lil-Wayne will most certainly drop a joint LP one year from now when young money is the sole center of attention. Stay tuned folks.
