Mary J.Blige Is Back And Bigger Than Ever!

Mary J. Blige is dropping a new album titled “My life 2 – “The Journey Continues, a sequel of sorts to her seminal 1994 album My Life. Mary recently interview with Metro, a UK magazine about her upcoming LP and more. Here’s a few excerpts:

Mary on the new album:
“It won’t be as dark as the first album. At the time of My Life, I was suicidal. I hated myself. But on this one, I want to live. I believe in myself. Everybody’s life has good and bad times”

On coming near to death:
“I hate to speak about drugs but it felt and looked like a near-death situation. One day my living room didn’t look familiar to me. It looked like I was somewhere else, and I thought I was dead. So that day, I stopped the coke. And then there was a day where I actually felt like my spirit was going to leave. I was, like: ‘Wait, wait, wait!’ It felt like I was going to die”.

On her decision to change her life around:
“I hated myself, I didn’t even know why. I was weak, I was an alcoholic, I was a drug addict. It was just awful. Now I just want to live because I feel I’ve survived death.

On going public with molestation abuse:
“So many people need to know that you’re not the only one. And that if we talk about it, we can get help.

On her new foundation, FFAWN (Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now):
“Talking about things helps us to get through them. It’s an all-women foundation for holding each other together, for speaking about what we’re dealing with. It’s for women to give each other answers. I also have the Mary J Blige Center for Women in New York that helps women complete their education”.

Mary J. Blige new album hit stores in November. Here’e a sneak peek of her new single 25/8
