Cornel West Arrested At Dr. King Memorial

Civil Rights Activist and Princeton University Professor - Cornel West

In the words of Cornel West “We will not allow this day of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial to go without somebody going to jail.” West along with hundreds of supporters marched in the streets of DC all the way up to the steps of the Supreme Court in demonstration of the “OCCUPY WALL STREET OCUPPY EVERYWHERE” movement. Cornel spoke loud and clear on a single bull horn.
“If you are content to think that corporations are people and money is speech, as the Supreme Court decided in the by a vote of 5-4, in their Citizens United v Federal Election Commission decision, then indeed you are sleepwalking through your citizenship and giving over your faith to false prophets”. Just moments after West and other demonstrators sat peacefully on the steps of the U.S Supreme Court, he was arrested.
