Vybz Kartel is making headlines once again and its not good news. Reggae artist Kartel, born Adidja Palmer was charged with murder, conspiracy to murder and illegal firearm possession on Friday Sept 29th. The dancehall DJ is alleged to be involved in the murder of 27-year old Barrington ‘Bossie’ Burton. Burton was gunned down in the Gregory Park area of Portmore. Authorities believe that Kartel is behind the killing of Burton after a warrant showed evidence of a “partially burned decomposed body.”
Kartel luck seems to be running out these days. A year ago, Kartel received public scrutiny from both fans and artist friends after rumors confirmed that Kartel had in fact bleached his entire body. Kartel openly admitted to skin bleaching citing “ its’ similar to white people tanning…I am all in support in black people wanting to lightening their skin”.
Kartel seemed to be redeeming himself this year, and was slated to release a reality dating show titled “Teacha’s Pet”. Sponsors of the show have now cancelled the show as a result of the allegations.
